LOL i actually caved in and watched The Day After Tomorrow. hahaha. all because i heard someone say it was "philosophical".

and yes, i enjoyed it. some bits are riveting. some bits are disastrous (duh?) some bits are heart warming/wrenching. some bits emphasize on futility. some on the human spirit. some bits are lame. some bits are illogical. but hey, i liked it. hahahaha hilarious movie. and. Sam is cute. ;) yum. he reminds me of eminem though. they have the same jaw and eyes. :x

and. it's so ironic that Eng Wah cinema has a promotion with Fuji Ice Palace with the ticket stubs from this movie. HAHAHAHAHAHA. *cough*

anyway. i mentioned i was disappointed that NOT EVERYONE DIED! boohoo. and then jason went on about how people have to survive to procreate, the whole vicious human cycle goes on. mwahaha. actually that's a butchering of what he said, so never mind :P

then i brought up the issue of say, if the only two people left were a male and female. but. infertile. then how? hahahaha. then he said something about natural selection and the like.

aiyah. we had lamez discussions. like why didn't the statue of liberty topple? oh, because it signified the human spirit. *yawn* we've seen that a thousand times. but. what i liked about the movie was that it ACTUALLY attempted to include COUNTRIES OUTSIDE THE US in the WORLD DISASTER event. which is good. i liked the bit where japan got hit by hailstones. and how IRONIC it was that US citizens became REFUGEES and fled to MEXICO which they declared a THIRD WORLD COUNTRY. hahahaha. taste your own. ;) i like the scriptwriter.

so we have the many representatives. Japan for Asia, a couple of guys in a snowed in cabin for Europe, Mexico for the so-called third world and various other things. BUT. classic TRADEMARK of a typical disaster movie still existed. ie: statue of liberty, new york being the 'center of attraction' and the like. oh, wahey, i think Arabs were also there in the first scene.

but wait. what happened to the Afghans? i saw no mention of their private war with the US coming to a resolve. i guess US wants to maintain whatever shreds of peace exist between them. *shrug* matters are fragile. like the iced-over glass. glass. funny when things are frozen they become more brittle.

so we had storms, typhoons, tsunamis, blizzards and a hell load of ICE.

funny huh. you walk into the theatre expecting shit for a movie. just eye candy. and you actually get something quite nice. :P let's hope Eternal Sunshine doesn't disappoint. but i think The Punisher will. as for Spidey2, i hope not. =( and X-2 had better be HELLA GOOD. ;) potter 3 was good though. up to expectation. but storyline, i felt, needed to be more beefed up.

not climatic enough imo. but good linkage.

anyway that's enough drivel in one sitting. maybe tomorrow will coax more from dith.
